Naxos — The Flavour Capital of the Cyclades

Naxos was the surprise star of my island-hopping adventure. While others rushed to Santorini or Mykonos, I stayed a few extra nights here — and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I stepped off the ferry and saw the Portara ruin standing above the sea, I knew I was somewhere special. I tasted the best moussaka of my life in a family-run taverna and swam in clear waters without a single crowd. Naxos has a raw, rustic charm that feels untouched and endlessly welcoming.
