Step into Sanxingdui: A Dream Across 3,000 Years

Just outside Chengdu, I stepped into a world so surreal it felt like ancient aliens had dropped by. Welcome to Sanxingdui Museum — a mind-blowing treasure trove of Bronze Age mystery, gold masks, giant-eyed statues, and stories that rewrite Chinese history.
This isn’t your typical museum. The relics are weird (in the best way). Think: bronze trees, mythical creatures, masks with exaggerated eyes and ears. Scientists still don’t know exactly who these people were — and that’s what makes it magical.
🌟 What You’ll See:
• The iconic Gold Mask (yes, that viral one!)
• Giant bronze human figures taller than me
• Strange totems that look like something out of Marvel
• Stunning jade & ivory artifacts, over 3,000 years old
📍Need-to-Know:
• Location: Guanghan, ~1 hr from Chengdu
• Entry: ~¥72 (book online to skip the queue)
• Best time: Weekday mornings to avoid tour groups
• 2 museum halls: Old vs New — don’t miss the new building, it’s next-level immersive
• English signs are available!
📝 Tips:
• Wear comfy shoes — it’s a big site
• Bring a power bank (you’ll take lots of photos)
• Pair it with a trip to the Jinsha Site Museum for the full story
✨ I came for the artifacts, stayed for the mystery. Sanxingdui isn’t just a museum — it’s an unsolved ancient riddle waiting for you to walk through it.
