Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in Yuexiu District. It was built by Guangzhou people and overseas Chinese to commemorate Mr. Sun Yat-sen.
In 1963, the memorial hall was extensively renovated. The roof was all made of blue glazed tiles. Iron fences were added around the park of more than 60,000 square meters, and many trees and flowers were planted in the park.
The hall-style building has created a new starting point for the ingenious combination of Chinese and Western architecture, organically combining traditional Chinese palace-style buildings with Western reinforced concrete structures. There is no column in the space with a height of 47 meters and a span of 71 meters. It mainly relies on eight giant columns hidden between the walls to support the large steel trusses with a span of 30 meters in the four directions of southeast, northwest, and northeast. The main trusses are supported on top, and then the octagonal hall roof is supported.
Landscape features: The world is for the public, the bronze statue of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the gate tower of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the cloud crane Huabiao of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial, the painted sky and ground corridors, etc.
