Guangzhou travel day was about lush green escapes 🍃 and ancient temple vibes! If you’re into iconic city parks and culture, this’s for you.
Top Spots to Visit:
1. Yuexiu Park (No. 988, Jiefang North Road, Yuexiu District, Opening: 06:00-22:00): Biggest public park in GZ, with lakes, shady spots, and historical statues. I got lost (literally!) so bring Google Maps, or screenshot the entrance before wandering. Find the Five Rams Statue and take a breather by the lotus pond for zen feels.
2. Sanyuan Palace (No.11 Yingyuan Road, Yuexiu District, Opening: 08:00-17:00): The oldest temple in town! Explore ornate halls, burning incense, and old legends. Super peaceful after the bustle of the park. Cash or WeChat Pay for smaller purchases is handy—no card machines.
How to Get Around:
Metro is best—Yuexiu Park Station (Line 2) drops you right by the main park gate. Both spots are walkable from each other; just watch out, park exits/temple entrances can be tricky to navigate, so double-check signs.
Eat & Drink:
Grab street eats like shuangpi nai (steamed milk pudding) around the park, or hit “Lao Guangzhou Congee Shop” nearby for local breakfast.
Extra Tips:
Carry an umbrella—it can rain out of nowhere. Use Alipay or WeChat Pay everywhere! No entry ticket needed at park; expect light crowds in morning.
