The first thing I felt when visiting Seochulji Pond was that 'time flows slowly.' Located just a short drive from downtown Gyeongju, the pond offers a serene atmosphere completely different from the bustling city. The pond is circular in shape, and its surface is adorned with seasonal flowers, creating a truly picturesque scene. When I visited during the summer, the lotus flowers were in full bloom, resembling a scene straight out of a movie. Additionally, the pavilion and small bridge at the edge of the pond are perfect spots for taking photos, making it an ideal place to capture memorable shots. With few tourists around, I was able to enjoy the tranquility without interruptions, and it was heartwarming to see locals taking leisurely walks or quietly reading books. If you're looking for a calm and nature-friendly spot, unlike Gyeongju's more famous historical sites, I highly recommend Seochulji Pond.
