Tokyo's Remote Island Hachijojima

Hachijojima is just 55 minutes from Haneda. There is also a ferry, but flying is much more convenient. The flight is really quick, so quick that drink service is difficult, but they do hand out bottled water.
Renting a car is good, but I rented an electric bike called an E-bike and toured the island. The nature is truly abundant, and the sea is beautiful. There’s even a ranch with cows. For lunch, I enjoyed pizza made with Hachijojima cheese at Paradiso. The drink was lemonade made from lemons grown on Hachijojima. I also had soft serve ice cream made from Hachijojima cow’s milk at another shop. It was really delicious. You can enjoy great gourmet food here. Speaking of the sea, there are spots where you can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Those were also stunning. There are several hot springs on the island, so be sure to take a soak in one.
Since it’s close to Tokyo, it’s easy to visit and highly recommended. Many accommodations offer shuttle services to the airport. I also used a shuttle service.
