🌴🥥 3D2N in Haikou: A Chill Escape to Hainan’s Laid-Back Capital

🏖️ Day 1: Check-In and getting all that Qilou Vibes

Checked into the stunning InterContinental Haikou, right by the waterfront. The ocean view from the room was absolutely breathtaking—especially during golden hour. Sleek design, great service, and pure relaxation! You will also be able to oversee attractions like 世纪大桥 and 云洞图书馆 from the balcony!

🎏 Qilou Old Street (骑楼老街)
Spent the morning exploring Haikou’s historic Qilou district. The arcaded buildings, weathered facades, and red lanterns gave it a slow, nostalgic vibe. Do not miss out on grabbing some local snacks and tea from 海边宽宽! 🎁

🍵 Laoba Cha (老爸茶)
Stopped for a chill tea break at a Laoba Cha spot nearby—a traditional Hainanese tea house. 红米肠粉 is a must try!

🍽️ Dinner at HCC (5-10mins walk from the hotel)
Wrapped up the evening with dinner at HCC, conveniently right beside the hotel. Great opportunity to enjoy the sea breeze and city lights!

🌇 Day 2: Culture, Architecture & Local Nightlife

🏛️ Hainan Museum (海南省博物馆)
Clean, modern, and surprisingly comprehensive. (‼️Some of the exhibition hall is still under renovation and the museum is closed on Mondays)

📚 Cloud Cave Library (云洞图书馆)
Next, I visited Yundong Library, right by the sea. The architecture is unreal—white, curved, almost like it’s carved out of a seashell. Highly recommended to check out this spot during the late evening to catch the sunset! You will definitely be left astonished!

🍜 Dinner at Haida South Gate Night Market (海大南门夜市)
Popular with university students, it’s more low-key and authentic than the bigger touristy spots. I tried:
• 麻辣虾尾 (cost 36yuan and the portion was huge!)

🛍️ Day 3: Local Eats & Last-Minute Shopping

🍚 Hainan Chicken Rice
No way I was leaving Hainan without trying its most iconic dish—Hainan chicken rice (wenchang chicken). Simple but perfect.

💸 Haikou MixC Mall (海口万象城)
Haikou’s high-end shopping and lifestyle complex. Sleek, modern, and packed with international brands, indie cafés, and design stores.

💸 Youyi Sunshine City (友谊阳光城)
Made a quick detour to Youyi Sunshine City—more local and laid-back compared to MixC. Highly recommended to try out the 鲍师傅 and 海底捞！🍞🍲
