Xinhaifu in Qilou Old Street, Haikou

💞Reason for recommendation: Delicious food that suits Thai taste, located in the Qilou Old Street of Hainan.
📍Address: Xinhaifu Hele Crab Porridge (Haikou Bo'ai Mall Branch), the branch we visited is near the clock tower.

The signature dish is the crab porridge, but since there were only two of us, we thought it might be too much. So, we ordered century egg and lean meat porridge, BBQ pork, and Sichuan stir-fried chicken, totaling 201 yuan.

✅️ The porridge stays hot all the time, never cooling down, which is amazing. The century egg is good, without the strong smell you often find in Thailand.
✅️ The BBQ pork has a slightly sweet flavor. The meat is a bit dry but pairs well with salted egg yolk, creating a balanced taste in one bite. However, it is quite oily.
✅️ The Sichuan stir-fried chicken is excellent! The chicken is fried to a crisp, yet the meat remains tender and bouncy. The deep red chili, resembling dried chili, is quite spicy, and the aroma of Sichuan peppercorns is delightful. The peanuts are very fresh and not rancid.

Overall, we were impressed, but the price is relatively high for two people. Oh, and the portions are huge! We were stuffed! 🤣
