Through Mountains and Magic: The Journey to Hallstatt

Traveled from Vienna Hbf to Hallstatt, and it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale.
🚆 2 trains + ⛴️ 1 lake ferry = pure wonder.
Every window view felt like a postcard, and that final boat ride into town? Unreal.

TIPs:
1. Book your ÖBB tickets online in advance (at least 2 months before) – prices are cheaper and seat reservations can help on busy trains, journey takes around 4 hour plus.
2. Be mindful during train transfer, double-check the platform signs—they can change fast!
3. Check ferry schedules, they accept only cash. Journey takes around 10minutes to the town.
4. Make sure to carry a water bottle with you—the great news is that fresh, clean mountain water is widely available and free throughout Hallstatt.
