🇰🇷The place they really lived, a visit to the Hangzhou Provisional Government Memorial Hall📜
⸻
In a quiet alley in downtown Hangzhou,
there is a place where the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea actually stayed and worked from 1932 to 1935.
That is the Hangzhou Provisional Government Memorial Hall.
This is not just an exhibition hall,
but the space where the independence activists actually breathed, met, and thought.
⸻
🕰 Must-see and feel points
📌Restored as is the actual activity site
After Yun Bong-gil's assassination in 1932, the Provisional Government moved from Shanghai to Hangzhou,
and continued its independence movement by holding meetings, writing documents, and holding meetings at No. 55 Changsheng Road. 2002 site acquisition → 2005 restoration → Official opening on November 30, 2007!
🪑 Recreated office and living space
The wooden desk where Mr. Kim Gu would have sat, the conference room, the bedroom, and even the kitchen—
It has been restored to its original appearance, conveying the tension of that day.
📷 A small but authentic exhibition hall
The small space is densely filled with materials and photos of the activities of the provisional government,
and the nameplates and relics placed under the Taegeukgi resonate deeply.
🤝 History preserved through joint restoration by Korea and China
This space is not an independent space,
but a historical site restored through cooperation between the Korean Independence Hall and the Hangzhou Municipal Government of China.
It is now registered as a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.
