Day 1: Take the high-speed train second class to Hangzhou (300 RMB), stay at a cozy guesthouse by West Lake (200/night). Day 4: Take the high-speed train to Shaoxing (30 RMB), stay at a guesthouse near Lu Xun’s Former Residence (180 RMB). Visit Lu Xun’s Former Residence (80 RMB), drink yellow wine at Xianheng Hotel (15 RMB), try fennel beans. In the afternoon, go to Shenyuan Garden to watch Yue Opera (40 RMB), stroll around the hometown of the Sage of Calligraphy (free).

Day 5: Visit West Lake Cultural Plaza (free) to explore museums, buy some Longjing tea (200 RMB is enough to buy good pre-Qingming tea) as souvenirs, then take the high-speed train home.

Carefully counting on fingers: transportation 600, accommodation 980, meals 400, tickets 345, others 300... total 2625 RMB.
