The Great Hall of Literature (Văn Miếu) in Hanoi, Vietnam, is the central shrine dedicated to Confucianism and the worship of Confucius. It is the most important building within the complex. Dedicated to Confucius and his five disciples—Zengzi, Mencius, Yanzi, and Zisi—the hall is ornate and magnificent, built in traditional East Asian architectural style.
The Great Hall once served as a place for Vietnamese Confucian scholars and high-ranking officials to cultivate their scholarship and virtue, and every year, numerous visitors come to pray for academic success and success. Inside, a statue of Confucius, along with portraits and artifacts of renowned Chinese and Vietnamese Confucian scholars, convey its profound historical significance.
The Great Hall, located within the Temple of Literature, is comprised of five gardens and various traditional structures, with the Great Hall at its center symbolizing the spirit of culture and education. Having served as Vietnam's first national university, the Temple of Literature and the Great Hall hold profound significance for those pursuing scholarship and virtue.
