🇲🇾🚂Bangkok – George Town without taking a plane!

I have to say that this trip was so much fun! 🚍🚆🚢 Even though there were many transfers, the journey was much easier than I thought.

I started by taking the evening bus from the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) 🚌 to Hat Yai Junction Railway Station, arriving just in time for the morning. 🌅
👉 Tip: Seats matter a lot! I chose the front seat. The legroom was spacious and comfortable, but the streetlights were always shining through 🌃, so bring an eye mask.

Then, I bought a train ticket 🚆 to Padang Besar for immigration. 🛂
The journey from Hat Yai to the border is incredibly scenic. 🌿🌾 Since I arrived early, the weather wasn't too hot yet, and riding the third-class train was enjoyable and not torturous at all.

✅ After immigration, I bought a ticket to Butterworth. The train was so comfortable, with cool air conditioning that I fell asleep several times. 😴

Once I arrived in Butterworth, I bought a ferry ticket ⛴️ to Penang Island and George Town.
🌊 The sea view along the way was amazing! When I reached the shore, there was a photo spot at the pier. The atmosphere was incredibly local, and I got some beautiful photos with a real city vibe. 📸✨

📌 Summary: Although it sounds like a lot of connections, it's actually very convenient because everything is connected. "Station to station," no need to find a small car to connect anywhere else! 🚉 If you're looking for a more adventurous and relaxed journey, this is the route for you! ✨

💡 Tips from this trip:
• Bring an eye mask and headphones 🎧 so you can fully rest while riding the bus.
• Bring some snacks and water, as they're hard to find on the train if you get hungry. 🍪
• Bring your passport and a pen for filling out forms at immigration so you don't waste time. ✍️

📍So, would you choose a direct flight or try this adventurous train ride? 🚆💭
