Hiroshima's rebirth after the devastating atomic bomb attack

Visiting this city brings a heavy heart, as today's main focus is on Hiroshima, the first city in the world to suffer an atomic bomb attack.

To convey the horrors of that time to the world, Hiroshima opened the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in 1955. The museum displays belongings of the bomb victims and photographs depicting the devastation, many of which are too harrowing to look at directly. The Atomic Bomb Dome, located just 160 meters from the explosion's epicenter, suffered catastrophic damage. Its exposed steel framework and crumbling walls today serve as a stark reminder of the destruction caused by the atomic bomb.

Although I later visited the ruins of Hiroshima Castle and the Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine, my thoughts remained with the victims depicted in the museum, leaving a lasting impression.
