Hitachi Seaside Park, Ibaraki

Everyone talks about Hitachi Seaside Park for the baby blue nemophila in May, but guess what? The cherry blossom season here is stunning in its own right. The sakura trees surround part of the vast park and mix beautifully with early spring flowers like tulips and daffodils. I wandered through an area where the cherry blossoms arched over the walking trail, while fields of yellow and pink bloomed beside me — a full sensory overload. The park is huge, so even on weekends, it doesn’t feel cramped. Rent a bike (absolutely do this) and cruise through the park’s trails with blossoms fluttering above you. My #cherryblossom25 shot from the Ferris wheel was next-level — you see an ocean of color with sakura as the crown. Hitachi blends playful and peaceful perfectly.
