Exploring the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Border: Hung Fa Leng Country Park Next to Liantang Port

Exploring the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Border⛰️ Hung Fa Leng Country Park Next to Liantang Port
Hung Fa Leng Country Park, located in Sha Tau Kok, New Territories, adjacent to Wutong Mountain in Shenzhen, is Hong Kong's newest and 25th country park. Being close to the Shenzhen-Hong Kong border, it offers panoramic views of Sha Tau Kok, Yantian Port, and other beautiful Shenzhen-Hong Kong scenery, with distant views of Sheung Shui, Luohu, and Futian. Besides the natural scenery, the hiking trail passes by military relic trenches, the Lianmakeng mine tunnels, British colonial government-built bunkers, and the Hakka ancient village of Lianmakeng, where history and nature intertwine, full of stories.

Two months ago, I participated in the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department's check-in activity. Collecting all eight check-in points allowed me to receive a beautiful stainless steel cup.

📍 Hiking Route:
Shanzui Village Road → Hung Fa Leng Country Trail → Lianmakeng Country Trail (passing Lianmakeng mine tunnels, Mak King To bunker) → Lianmakeng Village
🚶‍♀️ Distance: About 9.6 km
⏰ Duration: About 4 hours

🚌 Transportation
Starting point: From Sheung Shui Terminus, take KMB 78K/78S to Tam Shui Hang stop, then walk 20 minutes to the Hung Fa Leng Country Trail entrance.
End point: From Lianmakeng, take minibus 59K to Liantang Port or Sheung Shui.
