Superb Hand-Cut Beef|Hot In A Pot (Tsim Sha Tsui)

Located on Minden Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui, "Hot In A Pot" is one of the top hot pot restaurants I've ever been to with exceptionally high-quality ingredients. It’s been a long time since I last had hot pot. From the soup base, beef, handmade meatballs, homemade dumplings, seafood, vegetables to snacks, everything can be finished completely. The food is so delicious that I don’t want to waste a single bite, especially the beef which is truly outstanding. They also have a fish tank for live seafood, no wonder everything is so fresh 👍

▪️ Sichuan Spicy Soup Base paired with Chaozhou Soup
The spicy soup base is perfectly done—numbing, fragrant, and moderately spicy without overpowering the original flavors of the ingredients. The Chaozhou soup is even more distinctive, made from the broth of Chaozhou oyster porridge. The soup is super fresh, sweet, and savory, filled with seaweed, minced meat, celery, tofu, and scallions. Having a bowl of this soup before starting the hot pot is very flavorful 👍

▪️ Signature Hand-Cut Beef Neck (per portion)
The beef neck is the slightly protruding part on the cow’s neck, the core of the most frequently used muscle. The fresh red tender beef is densely marbled with white fat, giving it a rich, tender, and elastic texture. It melts in your mouth after just a couple of bites, and the beef flavor is incredibly intense—truly amazing.

▪️ Shrimp Paste Stuffed Fried Dough
A popular snack, the fried dough sticks stuffed with fresh shrimp paste are freshly fried. The fried dough is crispy and fragrant, the shrimp paste is super bouncy, and the texture is rich. Dipped in sweet and sour sauce, it’s incredibly tasty.

▪️ Preserved Vegetable and Pork Dumplings
So far, the best handmade dumplings I’ve had. The taste and texture are just like the preserved vegetable steamed pork patty that mom makes. The dumpling skin is also just the right thickness. Highly recommended.

▪️ Fresh Sea Prawns
Watching the staff take them out from the fish tank, the sea prawns are still very lively even after being skewered with bamboo sticks. The meat is super fresh and bouncy.

▪️ Crispy Cartilage Pork Belly
My favorite texture is that of crispy meat carp. After cooking, the crispy cartilage pork belly is crunchy and not too bony, making it easy to eat.

▪️ Geoduck Clam Meatballs
Another special handmade meatball, flavorful and you can still taste the bits of geoduck clam inside. The whole meatball is chewy and bouncy—super delicious.

▪️ Watercress
Watercress paired with Chaozhou soup is extremely fresh and crisp, and it’s not soggy at all. So delicious that not a single stalk is left.

▪️ Homemade Imperata and Sugarcane Drink
The perfect drink for hot pot is sugarcane and imperata water. Homemade with moderate sweetness, it’s refreshing and naturally sweet.
