A friend specially came to Central to have lunch with me, so we chose to eat something nicer and went to this Western restaurant in California Tower. They offer a set lunch during lunchtime, which includes an appetizer and a main course.
The soup of the day was mushroom 🍄🟫 soup, with mushroom pieces in every spoonful, very rich in flavor.
The thinly sliced yellowtail fish 🐟 was not fishy, and the flesh was tender. It was served with tiger milk sauce, a tangy and spicy sauce originating from Peru, smooth and appetizing. The sauce was topped with refreshing wasabi flying fish roe, making the overall taste more complex.
The thinly sliced steak 🥩 was grilled very fragrantly. It had no sinew, was neither tough nor chewy. It was served with French butter mustard sauce, which made it feel less greasy.
The signature lobster roll was small and delicate. Every bite was full of lobster 🦞 meat. The yuzu egg yolk sauce paired perfectly with the lobster. If you want a fresher taste, you can add lemon 🍋 juice separately. The bread was toasted to a golden brown on the outside, slightly crispy.
For an additional $20, you get dessert and coffee after the meal. The dessert was a cheese-flavored cake, with the right moisture level, not crumbly. The latte had a soft milky aroma and coffee fragrance, with a silky texture. The cappuccino had dense milk foam.
