Sai Kung Cuisine|Revisiting the Michelin One-Star Cantonese Restaurant

Meeting up with old friends, we chose a place that left a deep impression on us, having held a Michelin one-star rating for 16 consecutive years.

From the familiar "Michelin Recommended" sign outside the door to the spacious and bright dining area on the third floor, every detail reminds you of the amazement from the first visit. This time, we returned with anticipation and fond memories.

🍲 Fish Soup (HKD 248/serving) – No fishy smell and no fish bones. Made with local fish and fresh tomatoes, it’s smooth and appetizing.

✨ Salt and Pepper Tofu (HKD 60) – The outer batter is crispy and thin, wrapping the smooth and tender tofu inside.

✨ Salt and Pepper Abalone (HKD 510/4 pieces) – The firm abalone is crispy on the outside and chewy inside after deep-frying, with no toughness when bitten, and very savory and flavorful.

🐚 Low-Temperature Rice Water Poached Scallops (HKD 570/5 pieces) – With a subtle rice fragrance. The plump, white scallops are garnished with scallions, enhancing their natural fresh sweetness.

✨ Salted Clams (HKD 268) – Slightly salty and fresh, paired with vermicelli and scallion segments soaked in the flavorful broth.

🦑 Salt and Pepper Fresh Squid (HKD 188) – The crispy and fragrant exterior contrasts with the chewy fresh squid inside. Seasoned with scallions, garlic, and salt and pepper, it’s moderately savory.

🐟 Salt-Steamed Small Fish (HKD 498/5 pieces) – Steamed and then drizzled with hot oil, sprinkled with scallions and coriander, lightly salted to highlight the seafood’s original flavor. The fish meat is tender and not flaky, very fresh and sweet, but be careful as there are quite a few small bones.

🍚 Boat Rice (HKD 288/small) – The fragrant, crispy rice absorbs the oil’s aroma, with every bite offering layers of savory flavor.

🌶️ Medicinal Spiced Chili Wine Cooked Whelks (HKD 298/serving) – The whelks are small but fresh and plump, with a spicy aroma and a slight herbal sweetness.

🥬 Rice Water Bok Choy (HKD 168) – Perfect to balance the palate after enjoying rich-flavored dishes.
