Visit the “Tin Hau Temple” by the sea ⛩️
Located at Repulse Bay, this temple is a must-visit for anyone coming to Hong Kong. Pay respects to the sacred deities and make wishes for prosperity and success.
🏮 The temple does not sell incense, but there are some provided inside. Donation boxes are available for contributions based on your faith.
🌟 Entering the temple: Step in with your left foot and step out with your right foot, symbolizing movement in the direction of a clock’s hands 🕰️.
🌟 Worshiping Guan Yin: Stand on the tile in front of the Guan Yin statue and make a wish to the deity. Only one wish is allowed, and it should be for yourself.
🌟 Tin Hau Goddess: The large seated statue of Tin Hau is located to the right of Guan Yin (facing the temple). Many people pray here for safe travels. At the base of the Tin Hau statue, there are five coins. Make a wish at the golden coin for financial and business success. Rub around the coin’s edge from top to bottom three times, then pray at the square slot in the center.
🌟 Octagonal Pavilion by the sea: Stand at the center of the pavilion and make a wish. Inside, you’ll find a stone plaque. Use both hands to trace the number 8 on the stone, symbolizing infinity and good fortune. **This spot is believed to have the best feng shui in the temple.**
