A historical moment felt at the General MacArthur statue in Incheon

On the afternoon of February 22nd, I visited the General MacArthur statue located in Incheon Freedom Park and looked back on the history of the Korean War. Underneath the statue was an inscription commemorating the success of the Incheon Landing Operation in 1950, and together with the surrounding scenery, it created a magnificent atmosphere. Reading the information board, I was able to understand more deeply the importance of the operation at that time and the role of General MacArthur.

📌 Points for solo travelers

Hidden spot: Hill road behind the statue → Photo zone with a view of the park and Incheon Port

Recommended time: 3-4 PM (time when the sunlight gently illuminates the statue)

Recommended snack: Warm honey latte (5,500 won) sold at the 'Jayu Cafe' at the entrance of the park

🚨 Notes

Quiet viewing around the statue is essential

The hill road is steep, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes

Wear warm clothes as the wind is strong in winter

At around 5:40 PM, I finished the day by taking a picture with the silhouette of the statue in the sunset. The phrase "Freedom is never free" written on the signboard left a deep impression on me. I want to visit the park again in the spring when flowers bloom. 🌸 The phrase written on the signboard is very memorable🥲
