An Un-Turkish Island

The Princes' Islands (Prens Adaları), located off the coast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara, are a group of islands in Turkey. Their name originates from the Byzantine era when they were used as places of exile for princes, empresses, nobles, and monks. However, today, the islands are adorned with beautiful vacation homes. You can reach them by ferry from the Sirkeci pier in about an hour. Visitors can enjoy swimming at the stunning beaches or take a horse-drawn carriage ride to explore the picturesque island scenery.
