Hinomisaki Lighthouse (Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture)

☆ The Hinomisaki Lighthouse shines brilliantly white against the deep blue sky.
・Located about a 15-minute drive from Izumo Taisha Shrine. There is also free parking available. (By bus, it takes about 25 minutes and costs 510 yen.)
・This lighthouse, established in 1903 (Meiji 36), stands 43.65 meters tall from the ground to the top, making it the tallest stone lighthouse in Japan.
・The most remarkable feature is its pure white appearance! Its stunning beauty, standing tall against the clear blue sky, is truly breathtaking.
・Additionally, there are walking paths around the area, allowing you to view the lighthouse from various angles.

📷 The lighthouse is open for interior tours. (300 yen for middle school students and older; free for elementary school students and younger.)
Operating hours start at 9 AM, but closing times vary depending on the day and season, so it’s recommended to check in advance before visiting.
📷 After climbing the 163 spiral steps, the view is absolutely worth it. (However, it’s very high, so those with a fear of heights should be cautious.)
📷 This spot is also famous for its beautiful sunsets, and on some nights, the lighthouse is illuminated. Visiting around sunset might be a great idea.

🍜 Along the path from the parking lot to the lighthouse, there are shops offering seafood dishes and souvenirs. Some shops even dry fish outside, filling the area with a delicious aroma 😊. Personally, I was drawn to the grilled turban shell... 🐚 Seafood lovers will find this place irresistible.
