Jakarta 🥘 ☕️

Jakarta revealed itself slowly not in its traffic, but in its corners. Mornings began with local nasi uduk and kopi hitam in sleepy neighborhoods, where roosters still wandered behind shopfronts. As the city stretched awake, we wandered through flea markets and art spaces, discovering street murals tucked between crumbling walls and plant-filled cafés hiding behind steel gates. 🛵🎨☕

One evening, we made our way to the Phoenix Lounge, a hidden gem tucked behind an unmarked door in the city’s business district. Inside, it felt like time had folded inward: low lighting, jazz notes curling through the room, and shelves of vintage vinyls lining the walls. The next day brought us back into the sun to leafy parks in Menteng, spicy gado-gado from a roadside cart, and a quiet museum tucked beside a mosque.
