Summer Little Forest|A Hidden Summer Retreat Just 3 Hours from Shanghai

If you're also tired of crowded places
and want to find a hidden gem that's cool, with mountains, water, and local charm to unwind...
Jiande is truly worth the trip!

During my 2-day, 1-night stay in Jiande, I visited 4 spots—all tested and approved:
🔎Xin'an Greenway p2
Navigate to📍Xin'an Greenway - Water Fir Forest Water Park. Here, a mountain stream flows down, and many families bring kids to play in the water. The stream stays at 17°C year-round—dipping your feet in gives an instant chill. Imagine how refreshing it’d be to chill watermelons🍉 here in peak summer!

🔎Fengyuexuan Pier
Jiande has many piers, but not all have dragon boats! (We went to the wrong two—be sure to navigate to Fengyuexuan Pier.)
We planned to take a bamboo raft, but heavy rain canceled it… The dragon boat requires at least 8 people, costing 100/person for a 45-minute round trip. Rowing through misty rain was pure vibes!

🔎Meicheng Ancient Town
A commercialized yet charming ancient town worth a visit. Must-try: the tofu buns at the crossroads shop—thin skin, thick filling. Regret not buying more!

🔎Chimo Manor
A blind-booking success! Drive up a steep 60° single-lane mountain road—only one house sits at the top, so no passing worries.
The yard has 2 puppies and 2 kittens, super friendly. The room balcony overlooks a hillside blueberry farm and free-range chickens, ducks, and geese—like a dream grandma’s home. Lounging on the balcony, watching mountain rain or dawn breezes, brought a rare, soul-deep peace…

The 2-day Jiande trip felt like dozing off while watching *Little Forest*—an endless summer dream, cool, healing, and full of life!
