[Kagoshima] It's even more fun if you learn about Sakurajima first!

I went to Sakurajima in Kagoshima! I went there with the image that it erupts often, but I was surprised to find that it is an island with many people living there and a school.

The Sakurajima Visitor Center is about a 10-minute walk from the port. This is a spot like a small museum, where soil, volcanic ash, and photos of Sakurajima are displayed with explanations.

Sakurajima still erupts repeatedly, but it seems that there was a very large eruption in the past. Sakurajima from a geological perspective, Sakurajima from a historical perspective, and Sakurajima as it is now on foot. If you want to enjoy Sakurajima from various angles, be sure to visit the Visitor Center before exploring Sakurajima!
