A temple of the Rinzai sect founded in the Kamakura period.
Throughout the Kamakura period, it was generously protected by the Hojo clan, the regent of the bakufu.
Shari-dono and the bell, which is said to be the largest in Kanto, are designated as national treasures.
Zazen meetings were held every day, in which Natsume Soseki and Shimazaki Fujimura also participated.
There is also a teahouse in Bento, where you can take a sip with tea and sweets.
