I just fell in love with Kaş—a colorful, hillside town where cobblestone streets, Lycian ruins, and some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean invite you to slow down and breathe. It was the ideal solo destination for diving, wandering, and soaking in quiet beauty.
What Makes Kaş Special?
· Lycian History: Walk among ancient tombs carved into cliffs and explore the Antiphellos Theater with sea views.
· Diving & Snorkeling: Crystal-clear waters with caves, wrecks, and reefs—Kaş is Turkey’s diving capital.
· Boutique Vibes: Charming guesthouses, art galleries, and family-run restaurants—no mass tourism here.
· Day Trip Paradise: Easy access to Kekova Sunken City, Patara Beach, and Kaputaş Beach.
Why Kaş for Solo Travelers?
· Safe & Walkable: The town center is compact, friendly, and easy to navigate alone.
· Solo-Friendly Activities: Join a boat trip, diving course, or hiking group with ease.
· Authentic Dining: Eat with locals at small meyhanes or sip wine at a rooftop bar.
· Sunset Views: The Hellenistic theater is the perfect spot for solo sunset reflection.

My Solo Itinerary
Day 1: Old Town & Ancient Wonders
· Morning: Explored the Lycian rock tombs above town and the ancient Antiphellos Theater.
· Afternoon: Wandered the cobblestone streets—boutique shopping, Turkish coffee, and photos of colorful Ottoman houses.
· Evening: Joined a boat trip to watch the sunset over the bay.
Day 2: Sea & Adventure
· Morning: Snorkeling or diving trip to Kekova Sunken City—swam over ancient ruins underwater.
· Afternoon: Rented a kayak or paddleboard to explore the coastline on my own.
· Evening: Ate meze and fish at a family-run restaurant near the harbor.
Day 3: Day Trip to Patara or Saklıkent
· Visited Patara—18 km of sandy beach and vast ancient ruins (once Lycia’s capital).
· Or ventured to Saklıkent Gorge for canyon trekking and icy river wading.

Solo Traveler Tips
1. Stay Near the Center: Guesthouses like Hideaway Hotel or Sultan Camping are social yet peaceful.
2. Try Diving: Kaş is one of the best (and cheapest) places to get certified—group courses are great for solos.
3. Cash is Handy: Smaller shops and boats may not take cards.
4. Learn a Few Turkish Words: “Afiyet olsun” (enjoy your meal) and “Teşekkürler” will win smiles.

Final Thoughts
Kaş was everything I needed—adventure, culture, rest, and connection. I loved wandering alone through ancient streets, sharing stories with divers on a boat, and watching the sun dip into the sea from a 2,000-year-old theater. It’s solo travel at its best.
