Starting from Ikebukuro is so easy!

We exchanged our tickets for Seibu Kawagoe tickets at the Ikebukuro Station counter. The staff patiently explained how to use them and the train schedules. It was a breeze! 🚃 It's super convenient to get a round trip with just one ticket!

👣 After arriving in Kawagoe, we chose to walk straight through. Tip: walk to Hikawa-jinja Shrine, the farthest point, first, then walk back all the way to avoid backtracking!

Hon-Kawagoe Station → Hikawa-jinja Shrine → Shinkawagishi River → Kitain Temple → Toshogu Shrine → Kumano-jinja Shrine → Taisho Romantori → Toki no Kaneki → Ichibangai → Motomachi → Hon-Kawagoe Station
• 🏮 Hikawa-jinja Shrine: Super popular and a must-see! Drawing a love stone and hanging an equestrian horse is a truly ceremonial experience.
• 🌸 Shinkawagishi River: In spring, the cherry blossoms are a river, and the atmosphere is simply stunning.
• 🏯 Kita-in Temple & Tosho-gu Shrine: Full of history, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
• 🙌 Kumano Shrine: Small but charming, step on pebbles to pray.
• 🕰 Toki no Kane & Ichibangai: The essence of Kawagoe's old streets, with super retro, Tibetan-style architecture, perfect for photo ops.
• 🛍 Motomachi: Buy some souvenirs and restock your supplies before a leisurely stroll back to the station.

🍽 Must-Try Food
When in Kawagoe, you absolutely must try the Unagi Rice 🐟🔥
The rich aroma of the charcoal grill and the incredibly tender eel are absolutely delicious! There are also plenty of sweet potato desserts and wagashi (Japanese confectionery) to enjoy while walking.

The Seibu Kawagoe Ticket is incredibly convenient for transportation → It takes you from the longest route to the nearest without any detours → It allows you to visit shrines, temples, old streets, and delicious food all in one trip. The walk was about 5-6 kilometers, which was just the right amount of walking without getting too tired, and I gained a lot. 💕
