The moss-covered silence will cleanse your soul. A moment of healing and prayer at Maniyama Kokubunji Temple

#AbsolutelyFreeTravel

Manisan Kokubunji Temple, located in Nankoku City, Kochi Prefecture, is the 29th temple of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage.
The temple grounds, covered in cedar moss, are also known as the "Moss Temple of Tosa," and quietly envelop the souls of visitors. 🍃
The main hall is a historic structure rebuilt by Sengoku period warlord Chosokabe Motochika and is designated as an Important Cultural Property.
The temple grounds, dotted with seasonal flowers blooming in the moss garden and stone monuments bearing haiku and tanka poems, are so beautiful it feels as if time has stopped. ✨
Particularly impressive was the "Sake-abstinence Jizo."
This unique Jizo statue, worshipped by those seeking abstinence from alcohol, continues to attract many worshippers today. 🙏
It was the perfect place to stop by and clear my mind during my travels.
It's about a 10-minute drive from Nankoku Interchange.
Or, take the Tosa Electric Railway Dream Bus from JR Gomen Station to Ueda for about 10 minutes, then get off at Kokubunji-dori and walk for about 10 minutes. 🚌
When you want to escape the hustle and bustle and find peace and quiet.
If that's what you're looking for, head to Maniyama Kokubunji Temple.
