Tasting Menu Magic in KL 🍷✨

We had dinner here last night for Chocha Foodstore’s 9th anniversary and it was unforgettable! Our 8:30pm reservation placed us right across from the open kitchen, so we got to watch the chefs prepare every dish—such a treat. 🍴👨🍳

The 9-course tasting menu started with Tempura Kadok and Dried Squid Ulam, moved into Ambuyat two ways (poached dumplings + pan-fry sambal), and then the star of the night: Nasi Karu with aged beef, toasted coconut, pomelo & ginger flower—our favorite dish. 🥩🌸 The Duck series was rich and flavorful, and desserts like the Quinine Parfait and spiced doughnut Cemplang were the perfect sweet ending. 🍮🍩

We paired everything with a crisp bottle of prosecco, recommended by the staff, which matched beautifully with the flavors. If anything, the second course (squid salad) wasn’t quite our taste, but that’s just preference. Even the bathrooms here are stylish and fun! Overall—10/10 experience. Would absolutely come back. 💯🥂
