📍 BookXcess @ REXKL Review
If you're looking for a cozy bookstore in Kuala Lumpur, I highly recommend BookXcess Rex KL. 📚✨ Located inside the REXKL building, which was originally a theater, the unique layout and vintage vibe were immediately apparent upon entering. The space, which preserves the traces of the old building while reinterpreting them in a modern way, was enjoyable just to walk through.
The most striking thing was the layout of the bookshelves. The space was filled with tiered shelves, almost like a maze, making it fun to wander through the books. 📖 There were many hidden photo spots along the way, so many people were snapping photos. 📸 The atmosphere was so impressive that it was easy to stroll around, even without reading a book.
The books were mostly discounted rather than new releases, making them a great value. 💸 The selection was diverse, with novels, art books, and children's books all available. There was also a small seating area off to the side for you to sit and read. Rather than a place to quietly read or study, it felt more like a "cultural space" where you can enjoy a unique space and books.
The only downside is that it's quite crowded on weekends, making it difficult to take photos or quietly browse. However, if you enjoy a lively atmosphere, it can be quite enjoyable. Going on a weekday afternoon will give you a more relaxed and focused atmosphere. 👍🏻
👉🏻 Overall, BookXcess Rex KL is a unique bookstore that offers "books + an artistic space + a photo zone" all in one. If you're looking for a unique experience in KL, it's a must-visit. 🙆🏻♀️
