Don’t miss the romantic sunset in Haiyan Village when you come to Kunming🌅. This ancient fishing village has now become a popular internet check-in spot, especially the huge shell sculpture that’s perfect for photos! Staying near the train station is super convenient, this time we really found a treasure~
🌟 Sunset check-in route:
Arrive at Haiyan Village at 4 PM. The old houses on both sides of the stone-paved road are full of charm. Be sure to walk to the viewing platform by Dianchi Lake; the pink evening glow on the lake at dusk makes every photo a masterpiece📸. The shell sculpture is right in the village’s central square, with brick and tile houses as the background, creating a cute contrast~
🏨 Accommodation recommendation:
Duolanda V Hotel is right next to the train station (No. 147 Beijing Road), just a 5-minute walk to the subway station! We took the subway back from Haiyan Village at night, super convenient. The room even has a super comfortable bathtub🛁, and the terrace offers a view of Kunming’s nightscape. Special praise to the front desk lady who hand-drew a local food map for us~
💡 Useful tips:
1️⃣ The light is best in Haiyan Village from 5 to 7 PM; it’s recommended to wear a light-colored dress
2️⃣ The village sells fried shrimp cakes and papaya juice, so you can snack while waiting for the sunset
3️⃣ If staying at Duolanda, ask for a high-floor room for a better view
4️⃣ It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from the hotel to Haiyan Village, around 20 RMB per person
🍜 Nearby food:
There’s a 24-hour McDonald’s just 200 meters from the hotel to save the day! On the nearby old street, we recommend “San Kuai Yi Shi”’s fermented tofu, and a Yunnan cuisine restaurant called “Hongdouyuan” where the sour soup fish is amazing~
