Tranquil and Charming Stay in Kyoto

Looking for a quiet, tasteful accommodation on your trip to Kyoto? I stayed at the "Kyoto Shimizu Aolong Hotel", located in the super convenient center of Kiyomizu Temple Scenic Area, really feel what it means to nourish the heart on a journey! The hotel is backed by historical monuments, the environment is quiet, and at night there is a beautiful night view for you to enjoy.

Location and Transportation: The hotel is located at 2-204-2 Higashiyama-ku Kiyomizu and is super convenient a few minutes walk from Kiyomizu Temple, Yasaka Tower, Nienenzaka, and Sannenzaka all. This area is relatively less crowded in the morning and evening, so it is suitable for leisurely strolling around Kiyomizu Temple to avoid the busiest hours.

Architectural design and atmosphere: The hotel was formerly an old school, after the renovation perfectly blends Japanese and medieval styles. The overall atmosphere is very quiet and elegant, whether you are a couple or a family, it is very comfortable to stay!

Service highlights: The waiters are super enthusiastic, check-in has a dedicated person to introduce the hotel facilities; the executive lounge and lounge provide free drinks and light snacks, as well as matcha tutorials, special activities, if you bring children super suitable. For dining, there are plenty of breakfast options, Japanese small hot pot with salad set, no matter what time of day you eat. The top floor bar looks out with a great view, where you can slowly enjoy food and wine.

Amenities and Rooms: The rooms are soundproofed, big and clean enough, and the landscaped room has a direct view of Yasaka Tower. Some room types also have a free mini bar, which is a particularly fun stay. The hotel also has a private bath (private hot spring) and a gym.

Real insights and itinerary tips: During my stay, I felt that the hotel was very quiet, and I felt the tranquility of the ancient capital of Kyoto both in the morning and at night. It is recommended to explore the nearby small streets and attractions during the morning or dusk, less crowded and beautiful photos. The hotel has excellent views at night. Remember to reserve time to enjoy the night view at the penthouse bar!

Surrounding photo spots recommendations:
1. Kiyomizu Temple – 5 minutes walk
2. Yasaka Tower – 6 minutes walk
3. Nienyenza Sannenzaka - Authentic Japanese style street
4. Night tour of Kiyomizu Temple - few people to take beautiful scenery

Booking tips: Book your room at least a month in advance during peak season (spring cherry, autumn maple), and view rooms are particularly popular. It is recommended to book a room type with mini bar and private soup directly for an upgraded experience. In addition, Kyoto is conveniently located, whether you take a taxi or bus from Kyoto Station to reach the hotel quickly.

Notes/Itinerary Suggestions: Kyoto scenic spots are mostly walking-based, wearing comfortable shoes is crucial. From the hotel, there are less people walking in the morning and evening, so you have to get up earlier than the average person if you want to take pictures of the view without interrupting the queue. In addition, after nightfall, you can take a slow tour of Gion or participate in a special experience arranged by the hotel to deeply feel the flavor of Kyoto.
