A 3-Day, 2-Night Family Trip to Lianyungang for Summer Vacations

I'm looking for a nearby beach for some fun summer fun with my kids. Lianyungang is the perfect choice. I always thought Lianyungang didn't have a blue ocean, but after visiting, I realized how beautiful it is. Without further ado, here's my 3-day, 2-night family trip to Lianyungang!

Getting There
✈️Flight: Approximately 30km from the city center
🚌Bus: BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) covers major attractions
🚘Driving: Scenic spots are scattered, making driving more convenient
🚄High-speed Rail: Lianyungang Station (city center), Lianyungang East Station (near Lianyun District attractions)

Day 1: Hotel check-in - Haizhou Bay Resort - Food and drink in Yanhe Lane
Day 2: Lianyungang City Museum - Hotel Transfer - Haiyifang Park
Day 3: Yangshan Island - Liandao

🌈 Attractions Guide
1️⃣ Huaguoshan
Although famous, it's not recommended to visit in the summer due to the intense heat. If you want to see the sights, take the scenic bus to Yunv Peak and then walk down to save energy.
2️⃣ Liandao Scenic Area
Shuttle bus + scenic area entrance fee 70 yuan/person, children under 140cm free
Route 👉 Arrive at Dashawan, transfer to Sumawan Beach, Peacock Garden, and then Dashawan to avoid the crowds.
3️⃣ Haiyifang Park
The water isn't beautiful, but it's perfect for catching some seafood. Lots of seafood.
4️⃣ Yuntaishan on the Sea
Overlooking the Lianyungang Port and panoramic views of the mountains and sea. A hike is required, so it's not recommended for children who don't like walking.
5️⃣ Yanhexiang
Food street with antique-style buildings, perfect for a night out, and many seafood stalls.
6️⃣ Lianyungang Museum
No reservations required, small, and can be explored in half an hour.
7️⃣ Haizhou Bay Resort
Outside the city, it's quite secluded, not crowded, and perfect for catching seafood.
8️⃣ Yangshan Island
Not as touristy as Lianyungang Island, not too large, but great for taking photos and catching seafood.
9️⃣ Yuwan Scenic Area
Mostly Lianyungang locals. Gorge, waterfalls, Baishuitai, etc. If you're visiting Huaguoshan... You can also go sightseeing on the side.

🏠About Accommodation
We recommend one night in the city and one night near Lian Island.
In the city, we stayed at:

🈶Separate children's beds and toys are available, perfect for families with children.
The hotel is very close to the city's attractions, a 10-minute walk to Yanhe Lane.

📝Practical Tips
1. Bring sunscreen; Lianyungang can be extremely hot and sunny in the summer.
2. Bring a swimsuit and flip-flops for the beach; Lianyungang beaches are full of broken shells.
3. The monkeys in Huaguoshan will snatch food, so be careful with children.
4. Check the tide table beforehand; the best time to go fishing is two hours before low tide.
