Just landed in Lijiang and dove straight into the vibrant maze of Lijiang Ancient Town 🌙🏮 — this city is a total mood at night, bursting with people, lights, and ancient vibes.
Must-See Spot: Lijiang Ancient Town - North Gate Square (云南省丽江市古城区民族路2号)
Step into a real-life postcard! North Gate Square is the entrance to everything cool: winding lanes, glowing lanterns, and Qing-era wood houses stacked together. After sundown, it turns electric — locals and travelers mixing, live music floating out of bars, and street snacks everywhere. My tip: Get here after dark for the ultimate buzz. It’s busy, but that’s part of the fun. Take some close-up shots of the old wooden buildings and catch the outdoor cultural scene — you’ll get epic night photos.
Travel Efficiently: Lijiang’s old town is super walkable, so skip cars and buses. Wear comfy shoes and just get lost in the alleyways (Google Maps works but wandering is half the experience!).
Food Alert: Try Yunnan BBQ skewers from streetside carts or pop by a riverside tea shop for local Pu’er. Cafés around North Gate Square get packed, so grab a small table early.
Pro Tip: No ticket needed! Some bars have live Naxi music, and the area’s pretty safe to roam solo at night — though keep an eye on your bag because the crowds are real.
Wrap-up: No visa fuss if you’re on the 144-hour transit (check ahead!) and cash or WeChat Pay works everywhere. Summer nights are lively, but bring a jacket for those mountain breezes.
