🖼️🌫️ Tate Modern

In summer, the Tate Modern feels like London taking a breath. You step in from the warmth outside, and the cool concrete interior wraps around you like shade under a bridge. The old turbine hall stretches above, impossibly vast, swallowing sound in a way that instantly quiets your thoughts. It doesn’t feel like a museum, it feels like a pause. ☁️🚶♀️

The galleries seem to glow differently in summer light. Sunlight spills in through high windows, casting soft shadows across Warhol prints and bold splashes of colour. One moment you’re in front of a twisted metal sculpture, the next — a room of silence with just one deep red Rothko breathing on the wall. Not everything makes sense, but somehow that’s freeing. You don’t have to “get it” just feel it. 🎨🌇

At the top floor café, we sat with cold drinks, staring out at the Thames. Summer haze made the skyline dreamy, St. Paul’s, golden and still across the river, the water slow and silver. From that quiet height, London looked like a painting itself. And all you could do was sit still for a while, and take it in. 🍹🖼️🕊️
