đž Terraced Dreams at Longji Rice Terraces! Prepare to be wowed by sweeping green waves carved into the mountainsâwhere local villages and centuries-old farming traditions create a landscape like nowhere else in China.
Start your adventure in Ping An Zhai, the most accessible area with panoramic viewing decks. Hike the marked trails early for sunrise: the "Seven Stars with the Moon" viewpoint is top for those classic sweeping rice terrace photographs! Then, travel to Jing Keng, a quieter and arguably more scenic spot, where the terraces wrap around multiple Zhuang and Yao villages. Jing Keng offers tranquil paths for wandering and even better close-up shots of local lifeâdonât miss the âGolden Buddha Peakâ overlook for unobstructed, insta-worthy photos.
Stick to Jing Keng if you want grandeur and minimal walking. Itâs got cable cars up and down!
Tip: If youâre short on time, focus on Ping An for easy access and dramatic landscapes. If youâre up for a full day, combining both spots gives you the richest experience! Wear comfy shoes; trails can be steep and slippery, especially after rain. Grab water and snacks in the villagesâoptions can be limited as you climb higher. For the best light and photos, go early morning or late afternoon.
Transportâs simpleâlocal buses run regularly from Guilin, but consider staying overnight in one of the guesthouses for sunrise amongst the terraces. Donât forget: the entrance fee is 80 CNY, so have cash ready!
