A Journey Through Time: Encountering the Divine Capital's Peonies🌸 in Luoyang
Stepping into Luoyang feels like crossing the river of time, instantly transporting you back to the prosperous era of this divine capital. In April, Luoyang becomes a realm ruled by peonies, with the entire city immersed in their rich fragrance and adorned with magnificent blooms everywhere.
Enter Wang City Park, and you'll find yourself diving into an ocean of peonies. The "Yao Huang" variety blooms like layered golden cups, gleaming brilliantly in the sunlight. Truly deserving of its title "King of Flowers," it resembles an emperor seated in the royal court, radiating nobility and majesty. Nearby, the "Guifei Chacui" variety is equally stunning, with its white-pink petals adorned with emerald stamens, reminiscent of a carefully adorned imperial consort, exuding both charm and grace, evoking the splendor of the Tang Dynasty court.
Moving to the Sui and Tang Dynasty Ruins Botanical Garden, peonies bloom alongside the ancient ruins, adding a profound historical dimension. As the breeze passes, the flower branches sway, and petals flutter down like fragments of time spanning a thousand years. Legend has it that when Empress Wu Zetian commanded all flowers to bloom in winter, only the peony stayed true to its season, displaying an unyielding spirit that persists to this day.
Wandering through Luoyang's streets and alleys, you can catch glimpses of peonies in ordinary courtyards. Looking up, you'll see pink blooms like sunset clouds, red ones like flames, and white ones like snow, all contrasting beautifully with the ancient gray tiles and white walls. In these moments, history intertwines with the present, allowing you to truly feel the deep connection between this city and its peonies, immersed in the unique charm of the divine capital's national flower.
