1-hour escape from Zhengzhou, stepping into a real-life Wizard of Oz in the canyon after the rain

Several rains have fallen in Zhengzhou,
awakening the valley that was drought-stricken all summer.
Walking down the stone path to the valley bottom feels like entering a primeval forest.
The stone path underfoot shines with moisture from the rain,
dense woods on both sides block out the sky.
The air is filled with the fresh scent of damp grass and trees.
Babbling water flows between the stones,
and there’s even a small waterfall beneath the cliff.
Fatigue is healed by nature’s embrace,
and worries are washed away by the sound of flowing water.

Why not escape the city this weekend,
hide away in the mountains, and recharge yourself~

📍Gongyi Butterfly Valley
⛰️Tips for visiting
▫️No entrance or toll fees, about an hour’s drive from Zhengzhou
▫️The entire route is on stone paths, beginner-friendly; it takes about 20 minutes to reach the waterfall, and you can continue forward or turn back
▫️There are streams and pools along the way, suitable for fishing and for kids to catch fish and shrimp
▫️Nearby are Fujiwara Tofu Shop and Tree Ring Café, both great spots for photos and check-ins
▫️Stone paths can be slippery when wet, so wear comfortable, non-slip hiking shoes
▫️The valley is cool and humid, so bring a jacket. I wore a moonlight blue softshell jacket and white softshell pants, which made for eye-catching photos in the valley and protected me from sudden rain. The softshell jacket is loose-fitting with a base layer underneath, and the pants have a thin fleece lining, keeping me warm and dry while protecting against scratches from branches.
Good times should be treasured💕
