A Scholastic Surprise

The Ben Youssef Madrasa is a real architectural treasure right in the heart of the old town of Marrakesh, the building dates from the 16th century and at it’s height had 900 students that lived and studied on site. It’s absolutely beautiful with stunning and in Tait wood and stone carvings, beautiful tiled walls and floors. It is one of the main attractions in Malc and as such does get quite full with tourists; I went at lunchtime and it seemed to be a little less busy.
