When I visited here before, there were giant 400-year-old cedar trees on both sides that had grown at the same time as Zuiganji Temple was built.

However, due to flooding caused by the tsunami and subsidence,

hundreds of cedar trees died, and all of them were cut down.

The sunlight was blocked and the approach to the shrine was cool, but now the atmosphere has changed considerably.

I remember walking along the path with a solemn feeling.
