I finally made it to Melaka β and it was everything I hoped for: colorful streets, riverside vibes, delicious food, and so much history wrapped into one small, walkable city. Hereβs how my 2-day escape unfolded! πΊπΆβοΈ

π Where I Stayed:
A cozy boutique stay just 5 minutes from Jonker Street. White walls, blue doors, and plants everywhere β simple, peaceful, and super aesthetic. ππΏ

π Day 1 Highlights:
ποΈ Jonker Street Day & Night
Wandered through local shops in the morning, grabbed iced cendol in the heat, and returned at night for the buzzing weekend market β lights, food, and live music filled the air.
π€ Must-try: Durian puffs, grilled satay, and those cute pineapple tarts!
π° A Famosa Fort
A quick stop, but powerful. Walking through the ruins made me pause β itβs crazy to think this was built in the 1500s.
π· Great photo spot with palm trees and history in the background.
πΆ Melaka River Cruise at Sunset
The BEST part of the day. Gliding past murals, lanterns, and bridges as golden hour turned into twilight. So peaceful, so pretty. β¨π

π Day 2 Highlights:
πΊ Dutch Square + Trishaw Ride
Bright red buildings, clanging bells, and flower-covered trishaws blasting β80s love songs β quirky but fun! π
π―οΈ Cheng Hoon Teng Temple
Calm, sacred, and spiritual. I lit incense, sat quietly, and just took in the peaceful energy. A beautiful contrast to the city's busyness.
π² Nyonya Food Feast
Lunch at a heritage cafΓ© with authentic Peranakan flavors β ayam pongteh, sambal prawns, and kuih lapis. Sweet, spicy, unforgettable.
π Dataran Pahlawan Mall
A bit of modern comfort: AC, bubble tea, and shopping before heading back.

β€οΈ Final Thoughts:
Melaka is small but full of soul. Itβs not about ticking off tourist spots β itβs about walking slow, eating well, and enjoying the in-between moments. If youβre planning a short escape in Malaysia, this city is a gem.
