Meteora is awe-inspiring—six ancient monasteries balanced atop towering stone pillars. I hiked between them, ascending trails carved into rock, each bend revealing a new breathtaking view. The interiors were equally moving—Byzantine frescoes, candles, and quiet reverence. It’s a mix of geology and spirituality you can’t find elsewhere. As the sun set behind the sandstone giants, I understood why monks came here to be closer to the divine.
