seaside village

Stop just rushing to see the colorful houses of the Cinque Terre! If you only look at the sea views and small houses, you'll be disappointed—there are plenty of similar scenes elsewhere, and the sea isn't top-notch either. To truly enjoy it, you have to focus on the right highlights! 😎
Early October is the golden period! The sunshine is just right, the temperature is comfortable, and hiking is the soul of Cinque Terre! I especially recommend the cliff trail from Village 1 (Riomaggiore) to Village 2 (Manarola). Walking along the seaside cliffs, the scenery is breathtaking, but you need to buy a separate ticket. I didn’t get to do it and still regret it now!
If you’re not hiking, buy the €19.5 all-day train pass. You can visit all the villages in half a day, super convenient~ Village 4 (Vernazza) is great for climbing up to shoot panoramic views, Village 5 (Monterosso al Mare) has a beach for sunbathing, and don’t miss the popular photo spots in Village 2. When the weather is good, waiting for the sunset there is stunning (unfortunately, it was cloudy when I went!).
Finally, a hidden tip: treat it as a stopover between Florence, Pisa, and Milan. Staying in La Spezia is very convenient for transportation. Spend a day relaxing and strolling around, and your experience will be greatly enhanced!
📍Location: Cinque Terre, Italy (a must for hikers and those passing through!)
