Wilson wilson... where're you?!
Yes, this is the island from "Cast away" movie. It is uninhabitable. We booked a boat tour via Tokoriki Island resort to Monuriki. It took about 20 min ride and somewhat tough water. It's fairly popular spot... so expecting to see other visitors.
Our tour guide took us on a short hike to Albert Rock. He also demonstrated how to crack open a coconut.
The water is warm and pretty clear. There are really nice reefs, many tropical and colorful fishes and corals.

Tips:
Bring fresh water.
Bug sprays if you are planning to hike.
Water shoes (plenty of sharp rocks and corals)
Waterproof camera or gopro (our waterproof case did not work). The reef is amazing!
The waves are very strong and can be rough!
Don't leave anything behind, please.
