On the first day of the New Year, I decided to visit Osu Shopping Street to experience the festive atmosphere. Osu Shopping Street is one of the busiest shopping areas in Nagoya, with a rich history and unique charm.
As soon as I entered the shopping street, the first thing that caught my eye was the red lanterns and decorations everywhere, creating a strong New Year vibe. The streets were bustling with people, everyone wearing smiles and enjoying the festive joy. As I strolled along the street, I discovered many unique shops selling handicrafts, anime merchandise, and antiques, as well as numerous food stalls with enticing aromas.
I particularly loved the traditional wagashi (Japanese sweets) shops. The shop owners were very welcoming and introduced me to various types of wagashi. I bought a few to try, and they were both beautiful and delicious. I was also fortunate enough to witness a lion dance performance. The lion dance troupe's movements were agile, accompanied by the sound of drums and firecrackers, creating a lively atmosphere.
I also visited Osu Kannon Temple that day. There were many people praying outside the temple, all hoping for a peaceful and smooth new year. I sincerely made my own wishes, hoping for a smooth year ahead.
This trip to Osu Shopping Street was truly delightful, filled with New Year cheer and warmth. I will definitely come back to explore more interesting things.
