Nagoya - Cherry Blossom Viewing in Tokugawa Garden, Wandering in the Edo Period Pond and Spring Garden

#Nagoya Sakura

Located about 15 minutes by car from Nagoya Station, Tokugawa Garden is a Japanese garden with a pond and springs located on the remains of the Owari Tokugawa family residence. It is also a representative of Nagoya's small and beautiful cherry blossom viewing spots.

Go straight through the black gate at the entrance, and you will see Tokai cherry trees on both sides welcoming you. There are also weeping cherry trees blooming in the garden. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Japanese garden and cherry blossoms in the same frame. It is small, elegant and unique.

The pond-and-stream garden was the main garden style of the feudal lords during the Edo period. The clear stream flowing from the waterfall flows along the valley into the pond shaped like the sea, which is a symbolic miniature of Japan's natural landscape.

During the cherry blossom season, the Tokugawa Art Museum holds a popular special exhibition every year, "Owari Tokugawa Family Girls' Festival", which can be visited while viewing the flowers.
