🏛️ Nagoya: Exploring the Nagoya City Archives

#hellohalloween

One of the places I’d been eager to visit in Nagoya was the Nagoya City Archives, a stunning red-brick building that once served as the Nagoya Court of Appeals until 1979. Today, it functions as a public archive preserving documents and materials related to the city’s administration and history.

The highlight of the visit was definitely the grand staircase, illuminated by intricate stained glass windows — a masterpiece of early 20th-century architecture. The colorful light filtering through the glass created such a serene, almost sacred atmosphere.

Interestingly, there was a wedding photoshoot happening during my visit, and it’s easy to see why — the building’s classic European design and elegant details make it a perfect romantic backdrop.

A must-see spot for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates timeless beauty.
