🄢 Hidden Gem for Katsu Lovers – Kobe Katsudon Ichidon

While strolling through the neighborhood looking for dinner, we chanced upon this humble-looking shop—Kobe Katsudon Ichidon. From the outside, it didn’t scream fancy or trendy, but instead gave us the comforting vibe of a place where locals eat. That, to us, is always a great sign.

The shop seemed to be run by just one person, and there were already a few locals dining in when we entered. That sealed the deal. Ordering was through a vending machine by the entrance—a very typical Japanese touch. We were a party of 7, and to our surprise, we were ushered into a cozy little room at the back. Basic, no-frills, but exactly the kind of experience we were looking for.

We ordered several versions of the katsudon, and honestly, they did not disappoint. The pork cutlets were juicy, crisp on the outside, and the egg and sauce brought everything together so well. This was hands down one of the better katsus I’ve had—no exaggeration. And the best part? It was very wallet-friendly.

If you’re ever nearby, make sure to check this place out. It’s nothing fancy, but that’s exactly what makes it special.
